Capital Campaign Readiness

When thinking about a capital campaign, the question that is always on the minds of board and staff members for every organization is, “Are we ready?” During this session, John and Bob will use their recent experiences with the Ivy Tech campus expansion and capital campaign to look at the critical steps needed to be ready for a capital campaign from both the client’s and the consultant’s point of view.

John has been the Executive Director of Resource Development for Ivy Tech Community College in Fort Wayne for nearly ten years, and has served on numerous Ivy Tech Foundation Board Committees and the Ivy Tech Community College statewide Criterion V Committee of the Higher Learning Commission Self-Study. A current Ph.D. candidate, John is also a past president of the AFP Northeast Indiana Chapter.

Bob has been active in fund raising for 23 years and possesses a broad range of experience on "both sides of the desk." His expertise is centered in three areas: capital campaigns, major gift training, and creating a development office. Bob has been a motivational speaker, presenter, and discussion leader at both national and international AFP conferences, and is the recipient of the 2007 Barbara Marion Award for outstanding leadership and service to AFP.
