Mr. Howard Chapman is a true embodiment of the spirit of philanthropy. His dedication to creating positive change in Fort Wayne has left an indelible mark on our city. Howard Chapman has spent his adult life as a resident of Fort Wayne, where his late wife, Betsy Chapman grew up. The Chapmans have consistently demonstrated a deep love and concern for the well-being of our community. His philanthropic efforts have touched every corner of Fort Wayne, and his impact is felt by countless individuals and organizations.  

 

Howard Chapman has played a pivotal role in improving the educational landscape of Fort Wayne. He has generously donated funds to build state-of-the-art schools, provide scholarships to students, travel abroad programs, and enhance educational programs. His contributions have helped countless young minds reach their full potential. 

 

Mr. Chapman's philanthropic endeavors extend to healthcare, where he has supported the development of cutting-edge medical facilities, research initiatives, and programs aimed at improving our community's overall health and well-being. He has supported community development focused on serving those in need to make Allen County the best place it can be!  The Chapman’s have generously supported the arts in Allen County over the years, providing opportunities for residents to experience the importance of arts and culture!

 

Howard Chapman has taken the lead in his charitable work, focusing on organizations’ long-term sustainability by creating endowments for local non-profits, supporting operations, along with capital projects. In addition to his financial contributions, Howard Chapman has been an inspirational leader in philanthropy. He has contributed countless volunteer hours to boards and non-profits providing leadership to those he has served on. Some of the organizations that Howard has had long-standing relationships with include Fort Wayne Sister Cities, Courthouse Preservation Trust, Fort Wayne Country Club Caddy Program, First Presbyterian Church, Amani Family Services, Easter Seals ARC, Matthew 25, Turnstone, Fort Wayne Museum of Art, The Phil, Purdue Fort Wayne, and Community Harvest Food Bank.

 

In light of Howard Chapman's remarkable philanthropic contributions, unwavering dedication to our community, and inspirational leadership, I wholeheartedly nominate him for the Philanthropist of the Year Award. The Chapman family’s generosity has had a transformative impact on Fort Wayne, and his legacy of giving will continue to benefit generations to come.
